A graduate of Yale University, Dr. Shin majored in psychology with distinction. Serving as first chair concertmaster of the Yale Symphony Orchestra and soloing Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto as her signature piece, she was torn between pursing a career in music and continuing her education in healthcare. With the epiphany that dentistry could pull all her skills into one rewarding, life-long career, Dr. Shin combined her musical agility and empathy from her psychology background to deliver gentle artistry to dentistry. With an emphasis on cosmetics and Invisalign (certified in 2003 and an Invisalign Platinum Premier Provider), Dr. Shin has been in practice for over 20 years after earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University. Dr. Shin is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, the New York County Dental Society, the American Academy of Clear Aligners, the American Association of Women Dentists and the Yale Club of New York City. In the New York County Dental Society, she serves on the Ethics Committee. She has also taught at NYU College of Dentistry as a faculty member and received recognition from the New York State Dental Foundation for her continuing education. Both hailing from the Midwest, Dr. Shin and her husband enjoy New York's music and restaurants with their two sons.
